How it works at UTEP

facemash at UTEP is open to students at the University of Texas at El Paso in El Paso, TX, who are 18 or older. Log in with your @miners.utep.edu email address: we email you a one-time code, so there’s no password. Then upload a selfie of yourself and tick the box agreeing to be shown and ranked. Nobody is on facemash unless they did that themselves.

Only people who log in with an email address from the University of Texas at El Paso see your photo and the UTEP rankings. People at other schools can’t. You see two photos from UTEP at a time and click the one you think is hotter. After 10 matchups you’re ranked, and each list stays hidden until at least 10 people are on it. You can also verify yourself with a live selfie to get a ✓. You can delete your account and photo at any time from your profile page.

Which email do I use at UTEP?
UTEP students use @miners.utep.edu; @utep.edu is for faculty and staff. Addresses ending in @utep.edu aren’t accepted. Leave out any “+” part (like you+fm@…).
Can I use a personal email?
No. facemash only accepts the University of Texas at El Paso addresses, so everyone who can see you (apart from site admins reviewing reports) logged in with one too.
Is facemash part of the University of Texas at El Paso?
No. facemash is independent. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the University of Texas at El Paso or any other school. The school’s name is only used to say who can join.
