About facemash
facemash is a “who’s hotter?” game for college students. You see two photos of students from your own school and click the one you think is hotter. Every photo belongs to someone who signed up and chose to be ranked.
How it’s different
- Opt-in only. Nobody is on facemash unless they signed up with their own school email, uploaded a selfie of themselves and agreed to be shown and ranked. We never take photos from anywhere else.
- Your school only. Only people who log in with an email address from your school can see your photo or your school’s rankings. Nothing about any student is public or in search engines.
- 18+. Everyone confirms they’re 18 or older when they join. Anyone can report someone who looks under 18, and accounts of people under 18 are deleted.
- Checks and reports. Every photo is checked automatically for one face and no nudity. Any photo can be reported; three reports from different people hide it until an admin reviews it.
- Leave any time. Deleting your account deletes your photo, profile, ranking and the votes you cast, at once.
Who runs it
facemash is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any college or university, or with Meta or Facebook. It isn’t the 2003 Harvard “Facemash”; see the FAQ.
