Who can join
You must be 18 or older and have a valid email address from a school facemash supports. Your school is set by that email and can’t be changed. One account per person. facemash is for currently enrolled students; accounts that aren’t can be removed.
Your photo
- Only upload a selfie of yourself: your face, clearly visible, with no one else in the picture.
- No nudity, underwear or swimwear, sexual content, hate symbols, or anything illegal.
- Uploading someone else’s photo means a permanent ban.
- You keep ownership of your photo. You give facemash a free, non-exclusive license to store, resize, analyze (including automated face and nudity checks), show it to people who log in with your school’s email address, and rank it, until you delete it or we remove it.
Being ranked
By joining, you agree that people who log in with your school’s email address will compare your photo with others and that you may appear on rankings visible to them. Rankings change constantly and reflect only how people voted. You can leave at any time by deleting your account.
Don’t
- Use bots, scripts or multiple accounts to vote or to boost anyone.
- Download, scrape or repost other people’s photos.
- Use the site to harass, threaten or embarrass anyone.
Any user can report a photo. Three reports from different users hide it until an admin reviews it. We can remove photos, or ban and delete accounts, that break these rules, with or without notice. A ban is permanent for that email address.
Age
You must be 18 or older. By joining you confirm you are. Report anyone who looks under 18; we will remove them.
Emails
By signing up you agree to receive login codes. Announcements are optional and every one has an unsubscribe link.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you upload. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to share.
Not affiliated with any school
facemash is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any college or university, including the schools listed on the sign-up page. School names are used only to say who can join.
No guarantees
The site is provided as is. We may change or shut it down at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, facemash and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for anything other users do. Total liability is limited to $100.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and tell logged-in users. Continuing to use the site means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
